Being an Ethical Live Cam Model

I strive for the best in all I do, including cam modeling.  This means being an ethical live cam model.  In cam modeling, ethics include: 1. Be honest about what we do and don't do in private shows.  Though many cam models are honest in this sense, some may wonder if they can increase their business just by saying they'll do something and then once the customer is in private, don't do it or try to redirect them.  If the customer demands something we didn't say we'll do ahead of time, that's understandable to not do it or try to redirct them.  However, saying we'll do something we won't is detrimental to our success, as well as to paying customers and other cam models. As experienced cam models know, it's important to build up a repeat clientele, which won't happen by scamming customers.  Furthermore, customers can leave reviews, and negative reviews or saying that a model is dishonest or deceptive won't help their business. Such experiences c...

Sex Toys, Lube, and Infections

Many occupations have supplies associated with them.  As a cam model, sex toys and lube are among these supplies.  I also use some in my personal life.  Though sex toys can be enjoyable, they can also cause infections that are no fun, such as vaginal itching, swelling, and urinary track infection (UTI).  I experienced all of these at some point and recently tested positive for UTI, commonly characterized by frequent urination in small amounts and a burning sensation after peeing.   Though the UTI is getting better, I'm taking some time of off camming and penetrating sex toys to continue healing.   From what I learned, to reduce the chances of infection, pay close attention to the materials on sex toys. Avoid ones made of porous materials, such as vinyl, latex, jelly. They can trap moisture in their pores that create bacteria and cause infections. Instead, use non-porous ones made of glass, metal, ABS plastic, silicone. Also, use water based ...

Happy Vegan-uary!

Just wanted to say this before the end of January.

Beware! Scams Against Cam Models

When somebody writes something better than I can, I yield to them and share their link.  Such is the case with an entry by cam model Jaye Lovely about camming and scamming in the "Diary of a Harlot" blog https://medium.com/@diaryofaharlot/cammers-scammers-3-common-scams-to-beware-13fd36bdbd66 In this entry, Jaye explained 3 types of scams against cam models:  1) Dine and Dasher, 2) Daddy Sorebucks, and 3) Nagging Nathan.   1) The Dine and Dasher refers to a customer who tells a cam model they'll pay afterwards with no intent to pay.  Basically, trying to trick the cam model into giving them a free show or doing something they demand or request for free.  In addition to what Jaye wrote, another sign of a Dine and Dasher is somebody who says something like "show your t*ts for 5 seconds and I'll buy a 30 minute private show." 2) Daddy Sorebucks refers to a customer who buys a show, gets the show, and then charges back.  Jaye explained this is mainly about...

International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers

Today (Dec. 17) is International Day to End Violence against Sex Workers (IDEVASW).  Of course, this is an important issue every.  The purpose is to protest violence against sex workers and the hatred and oppressive laws that promote such violence, and for sex workers and allies to unite.  It is a mixture of education, advocacy, and support.   Violence isn't just part of the job description. I've organized IDEVASW events before.  They're typically open to the public, though there may be certain specific events just for sex workers.  Though they can vary from place to place and year to year, a common thread is reading the names of sex workers murdered over the past year.  IDEVASW is patterned after Transgender Day of Remembrance which takes place Nov. 20 each year.   IDEVASW events can also include speakers, marches or rallies, candlelight vigils, music, poetry, open mic, moments of silence, and more.  Here's a video with more inform...

In Loving Memory of the Loving Woman Who Coined the Term Sex Work

Carol Leigh, the woman who coined the term sex work , recently passed away at 71-years-old.  I'm very grateful for having the opportunity to get to know this amazing woman who devoted decades to advocating for the human rights of sex workers.  I first met Carol in 2004 at a sex workers' rights event in Berkeley, California where she was dressed as her flamboyant persona, Scarlot Harlot and performed.   Later, I met her as Carol when we were in somebody's living room putting together advocacy signs. Carol was kind, compassionate, intelligent, socially conscious, creative, proactive, and a great leader.  Though she was very into political issues, she also had a strong personal side- caring very much about people and how people were treated.  When people were mistreated or feeling bad, she reached out in a way that respected boundaries.  In addition to being around Carol various times in person since we first met in 2004, we also spoke on the phone ...
