Sex Toys, Lube, and Infections

Many occupations have supplies associated with them.  As a cam model, sex toys and lube are among these supplies.  I also use some in my personal life.  Though sex toys can be enjoyable, they can also cause infections that are no fun, such as vaginal itching, swelling, and urinary track infection (UTI).  I experienced all of these at some point and recently tested positive for UTI, commonly characterized by frequent urination in small amounts and a burning sensation after peeing.

Though the UTI is getting better, I'm taking some time of off camming and penetrating sex toys to continue healing.  From what I learned, to reduce the chances of infection, pay close attention to the materials on sex toys. Avoid ones made of porous materials, such as vinyl, latex, jelly. They can trap moisture in their pores that create bacteria and cause infections.

Instead, use non-porous ones made of glass, metal, ABS plastic, silicone. Also, use water based lube instead of oil-based.
