Unapologetically "Woke"

 "Woke" is one of the latest buzzwords the right-wing uses to discredit any person or position they disagree with.  It's very hard to take anybody seriously when they use the word in such ways.  If they have a valid rebuttal, then why not provide it instead of resorting to silly, shallow buzzwords.

As if that's not enough, this word even got into public policy with Florida's "Stop Woke Act" that is being challenged in court.  This isn't surprising that Florida of all places enacts a policy with such a name considering that their Gov. Ron DeSantis uses this word repeatedly like a broken record, which is getting really old.  This word is being widely used as a pejorative against people who challenge right-wing positions and policies.

I looked up the word "woke" and it means somebody who is socially and politically conscious.  In this sense, I'm unapologetically woke.

I respect that people have different political views and support their right to express these constructively,  It's just ridiculous how much the right-wing uses this word, or perhaps I should say misuses the word in a negative way.

    I once had created a twitter profile with "woken" in the name as in to suggest one who has just arisen from sleep. It was interesting for me as once I made a comment that someone wanted to argue, they began to attack the fact that it said "woken" in my name like I was some kind of a know-it-all which then lead me to having to google the meaning of woke myself 😅

      Great idea! Reclaim the word and use it in a way more consistent with it's actual meaning.

Porn "Casting Couch" and Health Risks

In the U.S., porn centered around a community of performers within what's been called the circle. That is, performers who voluntarily agree to be tested for STDs/STIs such as HIV regularly.  At the time I worked, this was every 30 days and is now every 14 days.  They agree to refrain from risky sex acts  outside of work so they don't put their fellow performers at risk.  This doesn't guarantee safety because there is no such guarantee, but is a precaution. When people who've been with folks from outside of the circle enter the porn industry such as escorts or other types of sex workers, some performers expressed concerns.  I cannot speak for everybody, but to me a bigger health and safety concern was the "casting couch" from within the industry.   The circle was based largely on an honor system, in which performers voluntarily agreed to abstain from certain risky behaviors.  Even if performers were abiding by the agreement, they may still be with ...

Being an Ethical Live Cam Model

I strive for the best in all I do, including cam modeling.  This means being an ethical live cam model.  In cam modeling, ethics include: 1. Be honest about what we do and don't do in private shows.  Though many cam models are honest in this sense, some may wonder if they can increase their business just by saying they'll do something and then once the customer is in private, don't do it or try to redirect them.  If the customer demands something we didn't say we'll do ahead of time, that's understandable to not do it or try to redirct them.  However, saying we'll do something we won't is detrimental to our success, as well as to paying customers and other cam models.
